The Limited Edition features a lighter body than the normal Type R, and additional sport features to enhance pure sport performance.

A total of 1,000 cars were sold in Japan, Europe, North America, Australia, and other parts of the world. Only 200 were available for Japanese enthusiasts.

Canada also had 100 cars, but all of them were sold out in just 4 minutes when they opened reservations on May 28, 2020.

Honda also set a special chance that lets people buy the Limited Editions having a serial number of 1 to 10. The reservation for those 10 cars were available on a special website that opened in October.

The limited edition is based on the updated model which Honda launched in Summer 2020.

With this update, the car received dynamic improvements on circuit performance, directness, and interior space.

Larger front grille brought the car better engine cooling performance. Cornering performance has been also improved through tuning of the suspension and other components.

The updated interior features reshaped manual shifter, and Alcantara leather steering which Honda has never prepared before.

In terms of actual handling, the shifter, which used to be round, has been changed to a teardrop shape, making it easier to grip and allows for more reliable shifting.

The Limited Edition is said to have been thoroughly lightened in order to raise its performance to the limit.

One of the major features in terms of lightness is the exclusive forged wheels made by BBS. By having this wheel, they’ve reduced 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs.) of weight.

Honda also eliminated soundproofing for the interior, which resulted in a total weight reduction of 23 kg (50.7 lbs.) compared to the standard model.

In fact, acceleration from a standstill and full acceleration in a straight line will give you a feeling that you would not expect from a typical sports hatchback.

The Limited Edition offers excellent performance on dry roads by having Michelin’s Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. In addition to that, the dampers and EPS have been specially set to match the performance.

With these features, even an inexperienced driver can enjoy the feel of this car.

The feeling when turning corners is directly led as the steering moves, which is an experience only the fastest front-wheel drive machine can bring.
