Toyota Launches The 2021 Camry with 17 Models

TRD model also updated as well

Camry’s all-wheel drive model and TRD model, which was introduced in 2020 as a North American exclusive model, also got an update and remains in the family.

All-wheel drive model combines a 2.5-liter I4 Dynamic Force engine with an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission.

Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control AWD provides effective traction in poor or slippery weather, while minimizing the resistance to fuel consumption typical of an AWD.

The system is capable of directing up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels in response to acceleration from a standstill or a situation when the front wheels slip.

For the Camry TRD, a newly designed aerodynamic body kit is now available to bring the car a powerful design and stability at high speeds. This body kit features a front splitter, side aero skirts, trunk lid spoiler and rear diffuser

Colors are now selectable with a two-tone, combining the new Ice Edge or Windchill Pearl color with a Midnight Black Metallic roof. Red accents are incorporated in the interior, creating a sporty interior space.

Powertrain for the Camry TRD is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with its maximum output being 301 hp, combined with an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. Sport shifting mode and paddle shifters are also a standard feature for this model.

A specially tuned TRD dual exhaust system has also been adopted to improve the sound at both idle and during acceleration.

While those special models will remain in the family, the “L” model will be discontinued and the “LE” model now becomes the entry mode for the 2021 Camry.

Therefore, the 2021 Camry will offer the following 17 choices.

  • Three V6 models: XLE, XSE and TRD
  • Five I4 FWD models: LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade and XSE
  • Five I4 AWD models: LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, XSE
  • Four hybrid models: LE, XLE, SE and XSE

Pricing for the 2021 Camry starts at $24,970 (Camry LE).
