5 Mitsuoka Models That You Rarely See on The Streets

Too big! There are huge models that are over 6 meters long!

Mitsuoka Le-Seyde

The Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, which has reminiscent of CMC’s Tiffany Classic, was a large 2-door coupe based on the Nissan Silvia.

Le-Seyde has two generations, which both are based on Nissan’s sports car.

If you look closely, you can see the remnants of the Silvia in press lines on the doors and other parts. But the overall length has been greatly extended to over 5200 mm (204.7 in.), and you barely can see a Silvia inside it from the outside.

Just like the base car, this is also an RWD car but has a 4-speed automatic instead of a 5-speed manual. Some owners bring the car to circuits and enjoy driving, since the car has some good characteristics as a sports car, thanks to the base model.

The name “Le-Seyde” was coined from the phrase “life second dream”.

The Le-Seyde ended its production like the Silvia, and now the Himiko, based on the Mazda Roadster, is the de-facto successor of the car.

Mitsuoka Galue Limousine

The Galue Limousine is Mitsuoka’s biggest sedan, which is a stretched variant of the Galue II.

Its overall length would be 6360 mm (250.3 in.), which is 200 mm (7.87 in.) longer than the Maybach 62 limousine sold by Daimler-Benz in the same era.

The Galue Limousine was mainly used for hotel shuttle purposes, and although the car was a made-to-order model, it had an overwhelming presence in the whole Mitsuoka lineup.

Prices started from 11.5 million yen ($106,400), and this was one of the most expensive models from Mitsuoka.

The Galue was based on the 10th generation Nissan Cedric and Gloria (Y34).

Its performance and interior were all based on the Nissan sedan, and the engine lineup was also the same with having 2.5-liter and 3-liter I6. RWD and 4WD were selectable.

The Galue Limousine ended its production in 2004 with the base Galue II, but Mitsuoka released a successor model in 2008, named the “Galue Limousine S50”.

Mitsuoka models are popular for their unique designs that rival those of foreign classics, even though they are domestically produced.

These models are all handcrafted, meaning that the total number for each model manufactured is not that large. But that is why there are many attractive models in its lineups other than the five models we introduced here.
