Comparing off-road performances
When you look at the RAV4’s underpinnings, it is clear that the car has longer control arms and springs than the Harrier, which proves the RAV4 is more off-road oriented. In terms of ground clearance, the RAV4 Adventure has 7.87 in (200 mm), which is 0.2 in (5 mm) higher than the Harrier’s gasoline model.
The Harrier, on the other hand, shares the same platform but has a completely different feel. Its suspension is set to move less, giving a more solid ride than the RAV4. Especially in the 2WD model, the rear end may feel a bit too tight. This is not to say that you can’t drive a Harrier off-road but you will probably have a hard time with the rear bouncing.
This is because the Harrier’s character is set as a crossover that is completely on-road oriented. The RAV4, on the other hand, is basically a crossover with an on-road flavor, but with a model designed with off-roading in mind, a model that goes back to what an SUV should be and embodies it with the latest Toyota technology.
Of course, the two models have completely different designs, and the atmosphere in the back seat is also different. If you want a sharp driving experience in your daily life, you can choose the Harrier, and if you have a lot of passengers in the back or want a car for leisure, you should choose the RAV4.
